Hello, I’m Halle.

I've been an entrepreneur for over 20 years! In 2001 I left my corporate job and never looked back. I've owned a restaurant, a health and wellness coaching and blogging business, and a photography business. I've even fulfilled my life-long dream of becoming a traditionally published author and have gone on to write 4 books!

All of my businesses have provided me with enough income to sustain myself financially and has allowed me to continue to grow and work for myself. Through the years I've had hundreds (if not thousands) of people express an interest in how I started my businesses.

That's when I had my aha moment. I acknowledged that I was really great at starting businesses and even better at turning them into something successful. What if I took all of my expertises from the past 20 years of starting businesses and put it into an on demand course and coaching program so that I could help others start their own businesses too.

And that is how the Women's Startup Academy came to life.

FROM SCARED MOM TO SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS OWNER

It all started back in 2001, when I became a first-time business owner and opened a bagel cafe. I had little to no experience and turned my cafe into a multi 6 figure revenue machine.

We successfully sold it in 2006 after my life took a dramatic turn and I went from having zero kids to having 3 beautiful girls in 18 short months.

I stayed home with my girls for their first 5 years before I started to get the itch to start something new around 2011.

I knew I wanted the freedom to be home for my girls when they got home from school and I wanted the flexibility to work on my terms, not the other way around.

My fear was could I do it again being a mom of three small children? Was it possible to be a good mom and a successful business owner?

THE MOM IN ME WAS AFRAID OF FAILURE…

I've never been afraid to put myself out there, but this time was different. I had a family to worry about.

I didn't have the available time or money that I did with my first business and I was afraid that being a mom and building a business might not be achievable.

That’s when I discovered that an online business was a perfect fit for me and my growing family.

I decided to push through my fears of being a mom AND a business owner and gave this online business thing a try.

I started my online business a little over 12 years ago when my girls were little and created a meaningful career that has provided me with enough income to sustain myself financially and one that has allowed me to continue to grow and work for myself all while nurturing my family.

    If you have a expertise or service that you're good at and can help others get the results they desire, you're in the right place.

    If you have a skill that allows you to create tangible products (such as jewelry, art pieces, leather bags, etc.) this course is a good fit for you.

    This course is also for people who aren't sure what it is that they want to turn into a business. You'll learn how to pinpoint exactly what you want and turn it into a business.

    If you require a warehouse, this course is probably not the right fit for you.

  • Nope. Some services require in-person actions. Some examples are photographers, real estate agents, dog sitters, cleaning services, tutoring, technicians, veterinarian services, pet grooming, salons and so forth.

    I do believe however that ALL businesses need an online presence to sell in today's market. Don't worry, I teach you everything you need to know about showing up online.

  • Sure. In my photography business, I sell prints, canvases, metal prints and other products showcasing the images that I took of them. For my online business, I sold natural deodorant, clay diffuser necklaces, my books, affiliate products and other tangible products. For my restaurant, even though it was a service-based business, I sold coffee, bagels, full breakfast and lunch meals and pastry goods.

    That being said, this course helps you turn your skills and services into a business. We do not help you with product development or distribution.

  • Absolutely! Coaching is the definition of service.

  • You have to be willing to put in the work to get your desired outcome. Other than that, no other qualifications are needed. I will teach you everything you need to know to start your own business.

  • No problem, this course helps you discover that. You'll learn how to pinpoint exactly what you want and turn it into a business.

  • Nope. This course helps you start your own business from scratch. That being said, if you have a business we can help you move to the next level.

  • This course in an on-demand course which allows you to go at your own pace. It's important to complete each task before moving forward. Everyone moves at a different pace, so move at the speed you are comfortable with.
